India's 2021 Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) election results, consequences, way ahead

Legislative Assembly election results and outcome of five Indian states in the limelight.

West Bengal

* Several people are ridiculing BJP. According to them, BJP is hammered, trounced. Let's look at facts, figures: The BJP has already won 77 seats. In the 2016 (Legislative Assembly) election, BJP had won only 3. Hence, there is a massive difference between 77 and 3!

* Mamata Banerjee was defeated in Nandigram, in a prestige fight — by a BJP candidate!

* It's also learnt that TMC members/supporters have resorted to violence.

* INC, Left, etc, whitewashed.

Assam

* BJP has won 60 seats and along with its allies will form the government.

Kerala

* CPI(M) led the show. INC came a far second. Leftists and their supporters are filled with ecstasy.

* India is predominantly a democratic country. The state of Kerala (or at least its leaders) is trying to be a 'communist' role model. Big deal. Everyone knows what happened and is happening in West Bengal. Development is a big question mark. There too, the Left Front under Jyoti Basu and Buddhadev Bhattacharya, led the state for at least seven (consecutive) terms.

* In second term as Kerala CM, Pinarayi Vijayan stares at INR 3 trillion debt.

Puducherry

* AINRC alliance, including BJP, likely to form the government.

Tamil Nadu

* DMK emerged as frontrunner and likely to form government — after a 10-year wait. They are certainly riding on the M. Karunanidhi wave, and MK Stalin is his son. Former CMs O. Panneerselvam and EK Palaniswami couldn't capitalise on the J. Jayalalithaa factor, most probably because they are not her sons, nor close relatives!

Indians seems to fancy dynastic rule! This 'dynasty model' has usually worked in favour of the ruling families and India has experienced this effect since decades, at the Centre as well as different states.

Facts and figures compiled from different sites

It's not about favouring a particular political party. Indians need to realise which party is working for the nation and her people. They also need to understand (and act upon) the tricks and tactics used — many a time only to win votes! It's indeed a matter of concern that millions sway and are tempted in favour of 'dynasty raj'. Does it relate to a possible hangover of the British Raj?
